Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is resin biodegradable?

In short - no, resin is not biodegradable. The resin I use is sourced from a UK based company who work hard to produce a vegan-friendly and cruelty-free resin that is both non-toxic and made from materials that are a by-product of the oil industry. These products would otherwise enter landfill. So while the resin itself is not biodegradable, it is a sustainable product when it is used to create pieces which are made to last. The bags are made in small batches and some are made to order. This means that I don't use more resin than I need to.

2. What does circularity mean?

Bruce Label is a circular brand. This means that every product created by Bruce Label is intended to last a lifetime. If your bag breaks, or is damaged in any way (accidents happen to us all!), then simply return it to me, and I will repair it for you.  If you decide that you no longer want your bag, you can return it to me so that I can refurb it, or completely change it up in order for it to continue its life as a brand new bag. This way we can reduce waste, and continue to create joyful handbags together.

3. How will I receive my bag?

Bruce Label bags are packaged with care and love, in a handmade dust bag which is made from vintage fabric. Wrapped in recyclable tissue paper, and housed in reused compostable beans or reused bubble wrap, and finally placed inside a recyclable cardboard box. Please reuse and recycle packaging where you can.

4. Who makes my bag?

I do! All bags are handmade by me. That means I design the shape of the bag, create silicone moulds, mix and pour resin, source and set embroidery. I sew all the dust bags and straps, and I put it all together to create the most joyful bags for you to enjoy. The feet, hinges, and closures are made in a tiny family-run factory in Northern Italy. The factory specialises in luxury handbags, and they make every component to order. So if you're wondering why it takes a little while for your bag to be ready, it's because these parts need to be ordered from Italy.

5. Returns and refunds

Please double check the bag measurements and components (if ordering custom elements) before you order. The bags are fully handmade by me, and I use vintage and second hand fabrics, and small imperfections may be found in either the resin or the fabric. This is all part of the story of the bag and the lifetimes the materials have had prior to being made into a bag. This is not a valid reason to request a refund.

If you are not happy with your bag, please do get in touch within 14 days of receiving your bag, and we can discuss next steps. No exceptions after 14 days.

If you have had your bag for 6 months or more, and you do not use it and wish to return it, then it is eligible for the Buy Back Scheme. I can buy your bag back from you at cost price of £100. Customer pays postage. I can then refurbish it and resell it as a preloved item, or completely transform it into something else.

If you have requested personalised embroidery (e.g. a name, initials, or date) then your item is not eligible for refunds or returns, or the Buy Back Scheme.
